Walter O'Hara harvested our best moose of the year, a 52", 182 B&C bull with veteran guide Ben Kunstleben on the second day of his hunt. Brad Brubach on his 9th hunt with Bearpaw took a 46" moose and a 293 elk with Ben Kunstleben. Chris
Gilbert on his first moose hunt guided Mark Drobka and John Colt
to their first moose on 3 consecutive days of hunting. Bryan Manning
took his moose at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon using a new technique
called the Snooze and Call. Ken Faith returned for his 13th trip
with Bearpaw, taking a moose on day 2 as well as an elk on day 5
with Mike White. Both shots were over 250 yards. Ken is one of the
best hunters we have had the pleasure of guiding. Superb attitude,
respect for the game we hunt, and excellent markmanship result in
Ken's success. Sam Finch took an excellent 6 X 6, 280 B&C elk at 60 yards with veteran guide Bowen Dolhan. Ken Fraser harvested a 5 X 5 elk on the Peace River called into 60 yards on a test hunt using a jet boat to access some of the vast unhunted country in the Peace. Our success rate on moose was 6 of 9 bulls, 9 hunters, with an average of 40". Two hunters passed moose. One client, Richard Colt had moose within 60 yards calling but was unable to get a clear shot with his muzzle loader. Bearpaw's Moose hunt is a great value for the hunter who wants a wilderness moose hunt with the comforts of lodge accommodations. Although we usually harvest 1 bull over 50" per year, we sell this hunt on our average moose. Clients in search of trophy moose are better served on a hunt in Northern B.C., Yukon, or Alaska.
