Bearpaws' 2001 Spring Bear Hunt finished with 40 hunters harvesting 63 bears for 157% success rate.

We have averaged 153% for the last 8 seasons in our Peace River Camp.

Our clients harvested 18 Bears with 18" or larger skulls and we took 11 Bears exceeding 7' in length. Our average bear was 6'3". Color was down to 30% of the total. Normally we are 35-50%.

Continuously hunting virgin territory thus enabled us to maintain these high numbers.

OUTLOOK 2002

We are setting up a spike camp as well as the main lodge for 2002 to reduce the late night travel. We are presently 50% booked for the upcoming 2002 season. We will be operating 60-70 bait sites in 2002, of which 20 will be new. Prices remain the same at $3000.00 U.S. complete cost for 2 bears. We will take a maximum of 8 clients per hunt unless otherwise specified. Our wounded bear policy will remain in effect.
