SPRING 2005 BLACK BEAR UPDATE
Bearpaws spring Black Bear season, our 13th since moving to Peace River, was once again exceptionally good. 46 Hunters harvested 68 Bears for another 150% success.
We had 10 seven foot bears taken, the largest by Jack Armstrong 20 9/16 Pope and Young giant taken with veteran guide Chris Gilbert.

Bill Campbell took a great 7'5 204/8 black bear on his first hunt with Bearpaw.

5 Time repeat hunter Dale Lutterman took 2 black bears and a wolf on a cold wet night when most stayed in camp.

We took 27 colored bears for the third year in a row!

Father and son Rick and Duke Versaw took a 7'6 brown and a 7'2 black.
Wet conditions produced some extremely tough conditions for guides and hunters especially in remote bear bait locations.

I would like to thank our excellent staff for another excellent spring bear season. North Camp Chris Gilbert, Jamey Langlois, Mike Ukrainetz, Richard Gilbert and cook Jenn Ukrainetz. South Camp Kevin Congdon, Colby Johnson, and Smoky Young, "cook extraordinaire".
