SPRING BLACK BEAR 2010

Bearpaw 2010 Spring Black Bear Season was as good as it gets. 25 hunters harvested 48 bears for a 190% success rate. Our highest number in seven years!

6 bears exceeded the magical 7 foot mark. 1 in 4 hunters harvested a 7 foot bear – high percentage of top quality animals.

13 out of the 48 bears were of the colored variety for above 35% success on colored bears.

9 bears had skulls larger than 18”! 1/3 of our hunters took bears Pope & Young or larger.

Our average number of bear sightings per week was 9, a good solid number, however, only 4 hunters out of the 25 hunted to the 6th day. Most were tagged out by day three. Two hunters saw over 25 bears. One hunter saw 19 in one evening.

The guide staff of Justin Redlick, Robyn McKean, Ben Funk, and Lee Rueb did a simply outstanding job of maintaining 48 baits and providing our hunters with a unrivaled hunting experience. Smokey did her usual excellent job of expanding waist lines!

We are presently 25% booked for 2011 with openings in all 4 weeks at present. The hunt dates are: May 9th – 15th, May 16th – 22nd, May 23rd – 29th, and May 30th – June 4th. The price is $4200.00 USD.
